Comparison can be a powerful motivator, but it can also be a thief of joy. When we constantly compare ourselves to others, we risk becoming discouraged and disheartened. This is especially true when it comes to creative pursuits. As creators, we may look at the work of others and feel inadequate or unaccomplished in comparison. However, this type of thinking can lead to a loss of joy and passion for our own work.

When we compare ourselves to other creators, we often fail to recognize the unique qualities that make our own work, personality, and POV special. Each of us has a unique set of skills, talents, and experiences that contribute to our creative output.

Walking in our God-given purpose means understanding that we have been created for a specific reason. As Christians, we believe that God has a plan for each of our lives, and that plan includes the talents and gifts that we have been given. When we focus on using those gifts to fulfill our purpose, we can find joy and fulfillment in our creative pursuits. Our worth is not based on the comparison to others, but rather on our obedience to God’s plan for our lives…

Even though she doesn’t quite understand the significance of birthday cards, I shopped for American Greetings birthday cards at Rite Aid as a forever keepsake. My mom still has stacks of cards packed away from when I was a child and they’re so sentimental to reflect on. American Greetings has so many age appropriate and beautiful options to choose from and I filled her card with words that she’ll treasure forever. Comparison can be a powerful motivator, but it can also be a thief of joy. When we constantly compare ourselves to others, we risk becoming discouraged and disheartened. This is especially true when it comes to creative pursuits. As creators, we may look at the work of others and feel inadequate or unaccomplished in comparison. However, this type of thinking can lead to a loss of joy and passion for our own work.

Heavy on the “I can’t believe it”
I’ll never forget the time after I had my firstborn. My mom was in the delivery room with me and after I gave birth, the nurse said “Ok Mom, let’s change the baby together”. I didn’t realize they were talking to me. I assumed she was talking to my mom 💁🏽‍♀️😂

Motherhood is one of the most challenging but beautiful undertakings of my life and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. It’s such a blessing to be able to fuel and direct such malleable little lives and to cover them with love 🥹 And although it’s been a journey, I can confidently say, I’M GOOD AT IT 👏🏾 Why? Because I do my best to give my best.
